Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) is a periodontopathic pathogen that may affect MUC5AC‐related mucus hypersecretion along airway epithelial cells. Here, we attempted to establish whether Pg virulence factors (lipopolysaccharide, FimA fimbriae, gingipains) affect MUC5AC in immortalized and primary bronchial cells.
